  2. time off for pregnant mothers or parents of a newborn baby
  3. to be off work for a long time with an illness, for an operation, or to recover from an injury
  4. to call the manager to let them know you’re sick and won’t be working today
  5. the rules (and procedures) that the company makes to decide what happens when an employee wants or needs time off work
  6. to be away from work (without quitting the job)
